A journey to the heart of Balanced Body: a recap of the visit to Sacramento
California sunshine, conversations over wine, reunions with old friends, and lots of new connections — that’s Sacramento in a nutshell.
Although we missed the flagship Pilates On Tour Sacramento workshops and the official 50th-anniversary celebration, we arrived at the perfect time. Immediately afterward, the official Distributor Meeting 2026 kicked off. For us, it was above all a fantastic opportunity to get an inside look at how Balanced Body equipment is made, exchange experiences, and spend time with people who create this brand out of pure passion.
Distributor Meeting 2026 – Three Days of In-Depth Discussions on the Global Pilates Market
Distributors from around the world gathered in California’s capital, representing Europe, Asia, South America, and North America. Bringing together such a diverse, international group created the perfect opportunity to take a holistic look at the industry.
One of the highlights of the meeting was Ken Endelman’s presentation, during which he shared the story of 50 years of building Balanced Body and reflected on the values that have guided the design of the company’s first machines from the very beginning.
For three full days, we held wide-ranging discussions on:
- Market analysis and trends – discussions on global developments in Pilates, identifying potential challenges, and forecasting market trends for the coming years.
- New products and technology – a detailed overview of upcoming products, equipment improvements, and the manufacturing process itself.
- Balanced Body sales, marketing, and education – sharing proven practices for supporting instructors, developing training programs, and promoting the Pilates method in local markets.
- Connecting with the Sacramento team – one-on-one conversations and a deeper introduction to the Balanced Body team, which ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of the brand at its headquarters.
The meeting showed that, regardless of geographical location, distributors around the world face remarkably similar challenges and share the same passion. Exchanging knowledge and experience is what drives the entire Pilates community forward.
Although some of the details must remain confidential for now, we can assure you that Balanced Body is preparing exciting new products that will impress with both their design and technical sophistication.
The Heart of Production, a New Logistics Center, and History Made by Joseph Pilates
During the Distributor Meeting, we got a behind-the-scenes look at how the equipment is made. Visiting the production floor in Sacramento allowed us to follow the entire craftsmanship and manufacturing process behind the iconic reformers and other Balanced Body equipment firsthand. Seeing the journey raw materials take before becoming precision training equipment gives you a true appreciation of the quality Balanced Body has been known for over decades.
The production floor has been a familiar place for many years. It houses a number of precision machines responsible for tasks such as cutting wooden components and initially sanding parts. However, everything else is done by hand! Experienced craftspeople sew the upholstery themselves, carry out the final sanding of the wood by hand, and carefully assemble each machine component, paying attention to every detail.
A completely new addition is a separate warehouse and logistics facility located away from the production site. This modern space significantly expands the company’s logistics capacity and speeds up deliveries worldwide. The new warehouse also houses an automated stretch-wrapping machine that secures oversized packages, ensuring the equipment is perfectly protected during transport.

Friendships Under the California Sun and a Cruise on Lake Tahoe
The family-like relationships at Balanced Body are built not only in the office but also by spending time together outside the workplace. The organizers made sure participants could experience the true spirit of Californian hospitality.
The highlight of the intensive working days and the entire distributor meeting was a formal networking dinner, where we strengthened our bonds with partners from around the world in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. However, one of the real gems of the trip was a company excursion to the iconic Lake Tahoe, complete with an unforgettable boat cruise. Surrounded by picturesque mountains and crystal-clear water, we found the perfect setting to recharge, enjoy inspiring conversations, and reflect on the entire trip.
A One-on-One Meeting with Ken and a Tangible Piece of Joseph Pilates’ History
After the official part of the Distributor Meeting ended, we stayed in Sacramento a little longer and had another opportunity to meet with Ken Endelman. This time, we got to see Ken’s collection of unique historical artifacts.
Among them was an exceptionally rare treasure: the original reformer used by Joseph Pilates himself! This encounter with the very roots of the method and the chance to touch a piece of its history made a tremendous impression on all of us.

We’re returning from California with our heads full of ideas, new knowledge, and an incredible amount of energy. We can assure you that a lot is coming soon — we’re preparing plenty of new developments and surprises for the Polish Pilates community!
The biggest announcement is next year’s edition of Pilates On Tour in Poland, which will bring experts and educators directly from the Sacramento headquarters to Poland! It will be an amazing opportunity to experience the spirit of American Pilates education firsthand and learn directly from the source.
