This is a very difficult and important question – its equipment depends on both the planned budget and the amount of available space (it’s worth using our Space Planner here). Small boutique studios usually start with 1-2 reformers, a chair, and a barrel, supplementing the set of devices as the studio develops and training sessions are held.

When deciding to purchase professional Pilates machines used in training studios or physiotherapy offices, it is worth choosing those of the highest quality, made from durable materials, covered by a long warranty, and sourced from specialized and proven manufacturers. Only they provide the durability necessary for intensive use of the equipment and years of trouble-free operation.

Before purchasing, find out what materials the machines are made of – the best quality ones are produced from hard types of wood, such as maple or oak (and not cheaper, but softer and less durable pine).

Due to the fact that the most significant manufacturers of Pilates machines are based outside Poland, and even outside the European Union, be sure to check the length of the warranty and the servicing options for the equipment in Poland. It is also worth paying attention to the total cost of purchasing the equipment. In many cases, significant amounts related to transport to Poland, customs duties, and taxes should be added to the listed prices of the machines.

Reformer

It is the foundation of every studio, without which no professional Pilates training can take place! The reformer is the most important piece of equipment, representing the largest expense when assembling it. The other devices and accessories are definitely less costly and also take up less space, so you can decide on them secondarily. You can also add a Tower to your reformer at any time, significantly expanding the training possibilities of the reformer.

Cadillac (Trapeze Table)

This is an advanced Pilates machine, combining an exercise bed with a stable frame. In its most versatile and comprehensive version (Reformer Trapeze Combination), it combines the advantages of the cadillac and reformer, and can successfully replace both machines, especially in the case of limited studio space.

Other Pilates Machines

It is also worth selecting other, smaller devices for your studio that will expand your studio’s offerings and diversify classes – chairs (Chair), barrels (Barrel, Ladder Barrel), spine correctors (Spine Corrector). Together with the reformer, they form a comprehensive set of exercise machines designed and created by Joseph Pilates, while not requiring too much space.
