Wrocław has become the heart of classicism: a report from the Contrology® Pilates Conference 2026

When passion for tradition meets a modern approach to business, events arise that change the course of careers. We just had an intense weekend in Wrocław, which for three days became the European capital of classical Pilates. The Contrology® Pilates Conference 2026 has gone down in history as an event that combined global standards with the incredible energy of the international community.

Global format in the heart of Poland

Contrology is the original name of Joseph Pilates’ method, symbolizing complete control over the body and mind. The conference organized by Pilango® Pilates Studio in collaboration with Balanced Body Polska returned to these foundations under the guidance of icons of global stature.

For three days (March 20–22), participants delved into the intricacies of the classical repertoire, working on the most sought-after equipment in the world – the Contrology® line from Balanced Body®. These machines faithfully replicate the biomechanics and resistance of the original devices designed by Joseph himself.

Teachers and studio owners from the farthest corners of the world gathered in Wrocław, including from Mexico, Germany, Spain, and Belgium. Joint training sessions at Pilango® Pilates Studio and Concordia Design Wrocław showed that the passion for Joseph Pilates’ method knows no boundaries. The sight of teachers from different continents exchanging experiences during and between workshops was the best evidence of how strong a community is united by a shared passion for classical Pilates.

First-hand knowledge from second-generation instructors

The biggest draw was, of course, the instructors.Karen Frischmann and Lesley Logan once again demonstrated why they are considered global icons.

  • Karen guided participants through the nuances of the classical repertoire with remarkable precision, sharing knowledge gained directly from Jay Grimes and Romana Kryzanowska.

  • Lesley infected everyone with energy, demonstrating how classical technique integrates with a modern approach to working with clients. She is also a direct student of Jay Grimes.

The most elite part of the program was the individual sessions. Only a few had the chance for direct 1:1 work – these lessons, filled with personal tips and deep corrections, proved to be a turning point in their own practice for many participants.

Equipment that makes a difference

It is impossible not to emphasize the “silent hero” of this event. The workshops took place on the original equipment Contrology® by Balanced Body®.

For many participants, it was the first opportunity to feel the specific resistance of the springs and the biomechanics of machines that are faithful replicas of Joseph Pilates’ designs. Working on this equipment allowed them to experience the classical repertoire “in the body” in a completely different way than before – with greater resistance, deeper control, and a new understanding of the creator’s intentions.

What’s next?

The Contrology® Pilates Conference 2026 shows that Polish Pilates is at a world-class level. Participants returned to their studios with their heads full of knowledge, new international contacts, and – most importantly – a huge dose of inspiration for further work.

Thank you all for your presence, the amazing atmosphere, and shared learning. If you couldn’t join us this year, be sure to follow our updates on https://balanced-body.pl/ and our social media – this is just the beginning of great things we are planning for the Polish community!
